New Convictions Recovery is an addiction recovery counseling center founded by Roland Achtau, LCSW, LCADC, NCACIP, who has worked across private counseling, outpatient centers, and inpatient rehabilitation. In recovery work, being reachable matters, so Roland uses Spruce to communicate with clients and to forward calls to a call center when he can’t answer right away. His favorite part is the two-way texting, which he leans on daily to stay in touch with clients.
A bit about the business…
At New Convictions Recovery, they look at each individual holistically and take into consideration all aspects when treating them. Since addiction is a spiritual, emotional, and physical illness, they understand the importance of having a comprehensive view when treating clients. They pride themselves on offering services that treat the entire person, such as individual psychotherapy, spiritual counseling, and family counseling.
When treating the psychological/emotional aspect of addiction, they utilize well-established counseling methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and interpersonal process therapy (IPT). In treating the spiritual component, they incorporate a biblical worldview to understand, treat, and apply principles towards the spiritual healing of addictive disorders. Lastly, when treating the physical aspect, they are partnered with a certified nutritionist who is able to do a full nutrition evaluation to assess medical nutrition needs, weight loss, and overall nutrition education in the recovery process.
They realize that addiction is a complex disease, and each individual seeking treatment deserves specific care and attention.
